Expedition cruise company Hurtigruten has implemented a new risk-free booking policy, allowing guests to change their bookings as needed to encourage them to continue to travel.

Guests already booked on cruises departing March 12 through June 30, 2020, may rebook to any future Hurtigruten expedition cruise or classic Norwegian coastal cruise, departing between July 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021, without any cancellation penalties. It applies to all bookings made through April 30, 2020.

If guests choose this option, they will receive a Hurtigruten Future Cruise Credit in the amount of their cancelled booking’s value (including extras such as flights, pre- or post-land adventures, or any excursions), plus an additional 10% discount for a future cruise. The credit and discount are available for a cruise departing between July 1, 2020 and July 1, 2021.

The future cruise credit is combinable with all other offers and promotions available at the time the new booking is created.

Hurtigruten has launched a risk-free rebooking policy for departures until Sept. 30, 2020. In addition, there’s a reduced $500 deposit for new bookings, valid for all new bookings made between March 1 and April 30, 2020. And, guests who book during this same time period, will also be able to rebook to a future cruise with no cancellation penalty, until 30 days prior to departure.

A free cancellation policy is available for bookings made from March 1 and April 30, 2020 for the following criteria: Guest is sick from the COVID-19 virus and provides Hurtigruten with a doctor’s note; or guest’s country of residence has provided official health advisories against traveling to the destination(s) of their voyage. The free cancellation policy applies to all cabin categories, is valid for new individual bookings made between March 1 and April 30, 2020.

Visit the Hurtigruten website for full details on their updated policies: https://www.hurtigruten.com/us/book-with-confidence
